I've seen alot of things.

Tuesday I went to my first car wreck since my cousin John died. For my faithful readers, I'll spare the details but about a month ago one of my cousin's died suddenly in a motorcycle accident.

I found myself driving to the scene of the accident, which stretched for over a mile from the beginning to the end, and the thought of John plagued me. I looked to the reporter who was sitting next to me and said to her, "I'm not sure I can handle a fatal today." Luckily, everyone made it alive but not uninjured. Five people in all went to the hospital.

The moral of the story I guess is that I'm realizing that as I go through this life, I pick up little tid-bits that effect me and the way I approach different assignments and even regular encounters in my personal life. I covered this wreck as sensitively as I ever have anything else. I understand the pain these people, their families and the passers-by could have been feeling. It's crushing to me.
